2024

  • May 13th - Picked up car from mechanic. Still awaiting worklist.
  • Thursday, April 11th - Picked up car from mechanic. Work done:
    • Rear bulb replacement, recondition seized bolts (rust) & reinstall to lamp housing
    • Replace and adjust all headlamps
    • Secure Battery mount (hold down bar not really attached to anything, re-bent, added fastener)
    • Reroute Rear 3 point Seatbelts properly (partial remove & replace rear interior panels)
    • Repair wiper washer pump harness (mouse damage, dispensers were NF)
    • Patch rear door/acid/lanolin
    • Reaffix Colony Park Logo, drivers rear, 3M body molding adhesive, not cheap stuff
    • Diag&repair multiple vacuum leaks (required intake removal which required new gasket, mod & replace multiple lines, replace PCV grommet)
    • Pull Dash trim&clock to diag & repair Defrost not working (clock wiring mis-routed, binding controls)
    • Replace driver door lock motor, reattach linkage to key cylinder, lock-tite repair screws from previous repair that retain switches
    • Replace Passenger lock motor, reattach linkage to key cylinder (lock by key still nf due to needing re-keyed)
    • Flush brake fluid due to age, color and viscosity indicate contamination
    • Flush cooling system, fluid contaminated with rust/sludge indicated by brown color/viscosity. Changed rad cap, thermostat and gasket, retorque all hose clamps due to leaks after proper pressure being held by new rad cap. Extensive reconditioning/cleaning of thermostat housing and mating surface required due to high levels of corrosion.
    • Dash temp guage nf, replace coolant temp sensor responsible for that signal
    • adjust rear brakes and correct misrouted self adjuster, reshape cable guide
    • replace (weld new) exhaust Y pipe & gasket due to holes, replace 2 torn exhaust hangers, seal 2 leaks in cat pipes where plug bolts were leaking
    • Replace Wiper Blades
    • TAILGATE: Replace lock motor, power window motor, repair (weld plastic) window vs. tailgate lockout switch, attempt to make lock linkage less likely to bind, lube and making slight adjustments for partial succes, sometime still binds due to wear/specific reason illusive, solution unclear beyond replacing linkage, which does not appear to be availible.
    • Hood ornament: replaced spring and spring retainer.
    • Replace Passenger lower ball joint, due to excessive play
    • Ignition lock cylinder (purchased, not yet installed) key able to be removed in run position, indicates likely failure at future time, replacement is best practice
    • Replace fuel cap, failed on testing with emissions machine
    • Sub out state safety and emission inspections
  • Saturday, February 17th - Purchased the car from previous owner.
